Great NY Learning CE Opportunity
These summer sessions take place at the FDR National Park Historic Site in Hyde Park. This year, though, there is a day of Field Trips, one of which is in and around Yonkers, and another in nearby Rockland County. The cost for all three days is as low as $85. I went last year, and really enjoyed the conference, met great people, and learned new stuff. I will be going back this year too, and I've chosen to go to the Norrie Point Environment Center for my Tuesday Field Trip.

Going to NECC 2009 Conference
I just finished registering for numerous BYO Laptop Sessions ... there were so many to choose from, and many still open. Is anyone else going? Fortunately I have a cousin in the area who is putting me up while I am there.

One Day NYSCATE Conference this Saturday
It's in Wappinger Falls, only costs $40 including lunch... you may be able to register at the door.

Sarah McPherson said… - Hi, Lynne. Congratulations - you are almost done. I signed off on your evaluation to graduate on Friday. Be sure that you have applied online with the registrar too. To get the Ed Tech Specialist cert you will need to take the NYSED exam. It's a piece of cake, I've heard.

These experiences can definately occur within the teacher's building.
How are field observations and field trips conducted for the student who is a full time teacher? Do these experiences occur within the teacher's building or is the teacher expected to take a personal day and visit another school?
